Welcome to Tipputs Inn

Tipputs is found at the head of the valley south of Nailsworth at Tiltups End, so named because heavily laden carts leaving Nailsworth for Bath would tilt up or loose their load, only safe after crossing the brow of the escarpment, hence “Tilt-ups end”. The sight of the coaching inn must have been a great relief to those hauliers of times past.

Food is served in the friendly bar and lounges and the galleried restaurant in the former stone barn is a great venue for lunch and dinner. Easily found on the great southern road to Bath, pleasant garden terraces and expansive parking make the Tipputs a popular choice.
