Over the past 20 years we have worked hard to build our company offering great local venues in the Stroud valleys.

We started in 1993 in The Old Fleece, a former coaching Inn and original post house. It’s now a bustling bar and bistro with great food, friendly service, super wines and local ales, not to mention the terrace for summer months and log fires for winter evenings.

The Britannia at the heart of Nailsworth, a former Manor house, serves probably the best and most authentic pizza outside of Italy. We import the flour, tomatoes and cheese weekly from Italy and bake the pizzas in our stone ovens. We source the ingredients for the rest of the varied menu as locally as possible and stock local ales and ciders to enjoy in the garden in good weather or in front of the log fire when it’s chilly.

The Old Lodge, our only hotel, is positioned at the centre of one of the most unique environments in the Cotswolds. 400 acres of common land, famed for the rare fauna and flora and free roaming cattle, stand on the edge of the Cotswold plateau. Offering panoramic views from the restaurant, 17th century bars, stunning food, wonderful gardens, leather chairs to swallow you up, 6 comfortable rooms and breakfasts that are worth staying for.

At Tipputs, another fine coaching inn, we offer a little ‘east meets west’ with our competing chefs pitting the classic English/Continental menu against our Southern Indian chef’s exciting Chettinad cuisine - all served in the fabulous 17th century mezzanine barn or attached 18th century coaching inn.

And finally ….. but by no means least…..

Fostons Ash, a former turnpike and centuries-old hostelry situated at the head of the beautiful Slad valley where former customer, Laurie Lee, penned ‘Cider with Rosie’. Mikey, the chef, has headed up the kitchen team since we opened the Fostons Ash and his inspired menus draw customers from the local towns of Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cirencester and Stroud. Great gardens and play equipment for the kids give way to formal terrace dining and, in winter, roaring log fires. A firm favourite with walkers and part of the Cotswold Ale Trail.
